For a Yorkshire lass brought up on cricket and Bradford City, life has taken an unconventional route. A writer and photographer, I guess I'm also an adventurer specialising in sporting culture, from South Asian cricket to an obsession with traditional Asian sports. An author of travelogues and travel guides, I have also written and presented TV documentaries.
Now based in London, after years of living in Asia's far-flung corners, I still travel regularly around the world.
It's a tough and unpredictable way of making a living, and not quite as glamorous as it sounds. But for a self-confessed sports and travel nut, it couldn't be much better.
